3CX Single is the entry service providing a traditional "fixed line" equivalent and includes all the common features you expect:
3CX Shared offers most of the function of a dedicated PBX products but is provided on shared infrastructure. This means you have access to a powerful phone system with minimal setup hassle.

A Channel is similar to a line or call either in or out. Adding channels allows you to have more concurrent calls.
An Extension can be thought of as physical phone. It is what connects you to a channel, allowing you to make or receive a call. Extensions can be connected to multiple phones and or softphones on your computer, tablet or mobile.
Direct In Dials (or DIDs) are the numbers people call to connect to you. Geographic numbers are traditional "land line" numbers. Geographic numbers are available as a single number as well as 10 and 100 number ranges. Special 13/1300/1800 number can also be used.

Call Ring Group (or Line Hunt) is a call distribution falility when you wish to distribute incoming calls across more than on extension. Ring Strategies are: 'Ring All' and 'Prioritized Hunt'.

Call Queue Group is a call distribution falility useful where you receive more concurrent calls than you have extensions or operators. The queue will answer the call, present your caller with an optional greeting and then give them music on hold until you are able to answer the call.
Call Queue Groups have many ring strategies: 'Ring All', 'Prioritized Hunt', 'Random Hunt', 'Hunt by Threes' and many others. Queue position annoucement and Callback are also available.

Interactive Voice Response (IVR) answers your call, gving your caller a menu to choices and directs your callers to Call Ring Groups or Call Queue Groups based on response.
