| The Little Vampire | |

I'll always try to make it to a vampire film, but a children's vampire movie? I don't like to divulge too much about the films I review, but I guess I'll have to divulge that these vampires are about the nicest variety I can remember. These don't suck on humans but make do with cows blood which leads to a very amusing scene involving flying vampire cows, but still, don't put The Little Vampire on your must see list - unless you just have to see every vampire film, and I know that there a good many of you little blood slurpers out there. As for children, well young Jonathon Lipnicki who was appealing in Gerry Maguire does that jubilant "yes" with that revolting fist pull with appropriate timing and kids will be pleased by that. These films are usually about empowering children. There's no real violence, no sex, not even any blood. This is fare for the under tens I suppose. Depends on whether they've ever watched the television news I suppose. If they have they'll definitely be able to cope. There are some nice touches. The young boy keeps a vampire tucked up in a trunk at the foot of his bed for example, not to mention the Flying Cows. Air born cows seem to be all the rage lately, making their first appearance since Twister. There they are, these buoyant bovines, in our multiplexes in both The Little Vampire and in Crocodile Dundee 3. 2 And Bat Eared Flys |
