| I've been reviewing and commenting on films professionally
in Cairns North Queensland in Northern Australia for nearly ten years.
A weekly spot on the Australian
Broadcasting Commission regional radio network commenting on
film has been accompanied by weekly reviews for Barfly
Magazine, a Cairns Arts street magazine. Most films that have
opened on the multiplex circuit in Australia are covered.
These reviews reflect a reviewer who can enjoy mainstream films
if they're done well but enjoys more audacious work; films that
are made with sensitivity; films that surprise.
And there is a pronounced bias towards Australian films, but
only if they're good Australian movies!
My day job is Dentistry! I've maintained a private practice
in Cairns for over 20 years.
My first job was however as a copy boy with Rupert Murdoch's
first newspaper, the now defunct Adelaide afternoon rag called The
News. Journalism is I think in my blood.
Speaking of blood, don't you just love Vampire
Films??
